We are in the process of developing a bespoke range of training available directly to schools engaged in the SWHW project. This range of training will be available in full very soon. For now, we would like to highlight the following training available directly from the SWHW Team:
|Health & Wellbeing Champion Training||Free||bespoke dates|
|Dementia Friends Session||Free||delivered upon request|
|Inset/Twilight Training Sessions||Free||delivered upon request|
Health & Wellbeing Champion Training
Health & Wellbeing Champions are people who, with our training and support, voluntarily bring their ability to relate to people and their own life experience to transform health and wellbeing in their schools. The training covers a range of topics that will help you fulfill the role of Champion effectively and confidently. Topics cover the necessary skills including how to signpost, what to promote and communication skills. There is also a wealth of resources provided to get you started and links to local projects that will help you along the way.
This training can be delivered directly to your school/Trust at a date and location that suits you over either one day or two half days. We also have a waiting list for open dates.
Dementia Friends Session
Dementia Friends Information Sessions are run by volunteer Dementia Friends Champions, who are trained and supported by Alzheimer’s Society. Each Information Session lasts around one hour. You will learn more about dementia and how you can help to create dementia friendly communities. This awareness raising session is available for adults primarily but this can include staff and parents.
Inset/Twilight Training Sessions
The SWHW programme is able to deliver bespoke training sessions at inset days or twilight training regarding a range of wellbeing topics such as:
- Time Management
- Recognising and managing Stress
- 5 Ways to Wellbeing
- Difficult Conversations
- Blood Pressure awareness and staff checks
- any wellbeing theme you may need addressing
This training is planned and delivered as and when you need it (subject to coordinator availability!)
If the content you require is offered through other local teams, we may forward your request to the relevant organisation.
To express interest in any of the above SWHW training, please email Karen Keast.
